This session examines how front desk workflows impact clinic efficiency and workload, focused on the evolving role of medical office assistants and office managers. Participants will identify common lost time scenarios   and explore practical approaches to upskill clinic staff in digital literacy, expanded responsibilities and technology-enabled tasks that reduce team burden. Real-world examples  will highlight how MOAs and office managers can lead meaningful workflow improvements using digital tools in everyday clinical settings

Chris LeBouthillier

Chris LeBouthillier is a healthcare leader with a dedication to harnessing technology for the betterment of patient care. As the Executive Director of the West Carleton Family Health Team, Chris has spearheaded digital health initiatives, including EMR migrations, complex data mapping, new integrations, beta testing, and overseeing the development of a comprehensive Patient Portal for a previous EMR. Chris is also the Co-Chair of the Ottawa West Four Rivers OHT and is a current Co-Chair for the OHT in both the Digital Health, Privacy, and Information Committee and the Primary Care Engagement Committee. With a background as a Physician Assistant, Chris brings years of clinical experience to his leadership role. His frontline perspective informs his strategic approach to healthcare governance and policy, ensuring that digital innovations align with the needs of both patients and providers. In Chris’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his three children, travelling, and exploring the city
