Ontario’s AI Scribe Program: Easing Tech Burden, Advancing Care

Chris Sulway

Chris joined OntarioMD (OMD) in October 2022. He brings over two decades of experience in clinical practice, health system leadership, and strategic policy development. Prior to joining OntarioMD, Chris served as Special Advisor to the Office of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, supporting the Honourable Sylvia Jones and the Honourable Christine Elliott. In this role, he led several portfolios, including Ontario’s Digital First for Health Strategy, Ontario Health Team and the formation of Ontario Health.

Chris previously held the position of Vice President, Quality, Performance & Accountability at the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), where he served for eight years. His career also includes a variety of clinical and management roles in Ontario hospitals, the community and the private sector.

A licensed physiotherapist in Ontario, Chris is a Certified Health Executive and an active member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. He contributes to academic development as a lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Ariane Siegel

Ariane joined OntarioMD as General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer in 2016. She has been recognized internationally for her achievements in privacy and security. She was recently awarded the 2023 Women in IT Award for Canada’s Security Leader of the Year. She has also been recognized by Who’s Who as a global leader in technology law, privacy and data protection. Ariane provides OntarioMD with strategic and legal advice. Her current focus is on technology and legal issues with respect to use of Artificial Intelligence in Primary Care. Through her leadership, OntarioMD provides health system partners with a practical perspective on privacy and security from the lens of community-based physician practices. Ariane developed OntarioMD’s Privacy & Security Training Module for the Ontario health-care sector and a second Module focused on virtual care.

Prior to joining OntarioMD, Ariane supported global corporations with technology law advice as a Partner in Canada’s largest law firm and from her own practice. She worked as a Senior Investigator for the federal Privacy Commissioner, Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice and as Constitutional Counsel to the Attorney General of Ontario. Ariane was part of the launch team for Richard Branson’s Virgin Mobile Canada.

Lydia Toledo

Lydia Toledo is the Vice-President of Category Management at Supply Ontario, bringing over 25 years of global experience in supply chain, logistics, and quality management. With a background in industrial engineering and expertise in Lean Six Sigma, she has led transformative category management and sourcing initiatives across both public and private sectors. Lydia is known for her strategic leadership, driving innovation, operational excellence, and long-term growth. She brings a thoughtful, results-driven perspective to every conversation, making her a valued voice in category management, procurement, and organizational transformation.
