In this session, attendees will learn how the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team partners have come together to address common challenges to support the administrative burden being faced by primary care physicians. The session will include examples of how dedicated change management resources have supported the development and implementation of innovative digital health projects. The presentation will include concrete examples of this work, including online booking, EMR toolbar use, advanced Ocean eReferral integration, and other tricks to reduce the number of ‘clicks’.

Presenter Bios:
James Lane, MD
Dr. James Lane is currently the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team Digital Health Lead and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. He began his family practice in Stayner in 1989 and has been working and living in the South Georgian Bay Community since then.
Tristan Cardwell
Tristan has been working with the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team since 2022. In her role as Project Coordinator, she supports physicians and their staff in South Georgian Bay in implementing digital health tools to improve patient care. Before joining the team, Tristan worked as an English as a Second Language teacher in Ontario and abroad. She utilizes the skills she learned in that field to support her in her role as a trainer of digital health tools. She is looking forward to her first Ontario MD conference, and is excited to spend a few days in the city where she used to live before moving to Collingwood in 2019.
