Embedding culturally responsive specialty care within primary care: Using EMR data and AI to improve access

This session explores an innovative model that embeds culturally responsive allergy care directly within primary care settings. By combining structured EMR data, shared digital workflows, and utilizing simple functions within AI to address gaps, care teams were able to identify barriers, tailor patient education, and streamline care delivery for newcomer populations. 

Learn how this approach reduced specialist wait times from 79 to 30 days, improved patient trust and engagement, and restored valuable clinical capacity. Attendees will gain practical insights into using EMR data and AI to drive more equitable, efficient, and patient-centred care within their own communities.
