This session explores emerging tools that enhance daily clinical decision-making related to mental health. The session will focus on the Evidence2Practice (E2P) tool for anxiety disorders and major depression in adults, its support for primary care clinicians and lessons learned from its initial implementation phase.

Presenter Bios:
Dr. Trish Rawn
Trish Rawn is the Center for Effective Practice’s (CEP) Clinical Service Director for the Academic Detailing Service and provides clinical guidance and leadership to the Academic Detailing team. She is also an academic detailer for Toronto and North Simcoe Muskoka, providing tailored educational outreach visits to family physicians and nurse practitioners. Since joining the CEP in 2015, Trish has developed expertise in critical literature appraisal, academic detailer training and tool development, interprofessional relationship building, and promotion of the service. The academic detailing team that she leads has provided over 4,000 educational outreach visits to primary care clinicians across Ontario on 12 clinical topics. Trish holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto and is a certified health coach specializing in behavior change.
Sharon Bal
Dr. Sharon Bal is the lead of the Delta Coronation FHO in Cambridge, ON. She has been involved with MHA quality improvement work, including being part of the QSAC for the Anxiety Disorders Quality Standard (HQO), and a member of multiple regional and provincial MHA committees. More recently, Dr. Bal was a member of the Evidence 2 Practice (E2) Anxiety and Depression tool working group, and a CEP clinical lead for the A+D html tool. Dr. Sharon Bal is an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Family Medicine, Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University, and the Chair of Electives for the undergraduate medical education program. Dr. Bal is former Regional Clinical Lead (Primary Care) with Ontario Health and a member of the Ontario Primary Care Council. Dr. Bal also currently serves as a board director of the Ontario Medical Association.
Pippy Scott-Meuser
Since joining the team in 2017, Pippy Scott-Meuser has provided leadership, guidance and strategic direction in developing the Centre for Effective Practice’s digital approach to bridging the gap between evidence and practice through the creative use of technology. She is the Director of Digital and oversees the Evidence2Practice (E2P) Ontario Program, providing leadership, guidance and oversight into the program’s overall operations and the clinical design, knowledge activation and implementation process.
