Rosemarie Paschkowiak is the Clinic Operations Manager at a large community-based medical
clinic in Ottawa, Ontario, where she oversees day-to-day operations supporting 16 family
physicians, 9 specialists across various disciplines, and a team of 19 administrative and clinical
staff.
With a background in Psychology from Carleton University and over a decade of experience in
team and office management, Rosemarie has developed a unique perspective that blends peoplecentered leadership with operational efficiency. Her career path has included roles in human
resources, payroll, and office administration, as well as time spent running her own childcare
business.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she earned her Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification to
meet the urgent needs of the healthcare system. This experience led to a transition into the
clinical environment, where she initially held a hybrid role encompassing both nursing assistant
and administrative duties. Her responsibilities quickly evolved, and she now plays a key
leadership role in optimizing clinical workflows, integrating digital tools, and ensuring seamless
clinic operations.

Katie Peter is a Practice Enhancement Consultant at OntarioMD, focusing on optimizing EMR systems and workflows to improve patient care. With 20 years as an Educational Worker, and EMR Coordinator, she excels in standardizing documentation and developing practice metrics. Katie also creates educational plans to enhance student outcomes and coaches practices using the Model for Improvement. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, hiking, skiing, and is an enthusiastic animal lover.
